It is very important to understand that in order to ‘Still the Mind’, we first need to learn to ‘Still our Body’.

Many are the options available now days: going to the gym, to a yoga class, running, and for the less sporty simply a vigorous walk in Nature will do the job.

The important thing is that We Move!

We need to learn how to balance the energy within our body, and in order to release tension and physical stress we need Movement, otherwise our body will become lethargic, holding on to stress and tension more than it should.

In alternative medicine, the word ‘bodywork’ defines any therapeutic or personal development technique that involves working with the human body, such as manipulative therapy, breath work, or energy medicine. Bodywork techniques
also aim to assess or improve posture, promoting awareness of the “bodymind connection”, rather than the “mind-body connection”.

During my Meditation classes the implementation of Movement is a very big part of the Meditation experience, so that you will go through a steady process: from Movement, to Relaxation, to Meditation. From gently awakening your Body, to gradually sitting into Stillness. In this way your Mind will be prepared to sit in Meditation, being able to slowly experience all its wonderful benefits.

As a Qi Gong and Yoga eager practitioner, my movement session is very much inspired by these two wonderful practices. It is very gentle, and it focuses on the importance of learning to listen to our body, as we Breathe in Movement, better described as ‘Meditation in Movement’.

Our BodyMind connection is fundamental for a happier and healthier lifestyle!
